How to solve the Silent Library puzzle in Baldur's Gate 3
After successfully defeating the Dark Justiciars, make your way to the big gate located at the far end of the Silent Library room. Use thieves' tools to unlock this gate. Once it's unlocked, you'll enter a room with bookshelves.
In this smaller bookshelf room, you'll come across an altar labeled "Riddle of Night." When you examine the altar, you'll be faced with a puzzle that asks, "What can silence the Nightsong?" There's also a slot nearby. To solve this puzzle, you need to put the right book into that slot.
To find the required book, go back to the main library by passing through the same large gate. Look for the second bookshelf just after you exit. Search the shelves there, and you'll discover a book named "Teachings of Loss: The Nightsinger." Be cautious, as there's also a trap in the area that you should disarm before picking up the book.
Take the book and return to the altar through the large gate. When you reach the altar again, you'll see the slot once more. Insert the book into the slot.
Once you've successfully placed the book, a door near a large statue will open, allowing you to claim your rewards.
What are the rewards for solving the Silent Library puzzle in Baldur's Gate 3?
You will be rewarded with the following reward after the successful completion of the Silent Library puzzle:
- Dark Justiciar Helmet
- Spear of Night
The Dark Justiciar Helmet will provide you with a +1 bonus to saving throws. It will also help you while facing spells. When you're in an obscured state, the required roll to achieve a critical hit is lowered by 1.
On the other hand, Spear of Night grants you the ability to eliminate Nightsong. It also possesses a +1 weapon enchantment, enhancing its effectiveness in combat.
