Is Avatar Frontiers of Pandora co-op?

Yes, Avatar Frontiers of Pandora has a co-op multiplayer mode. This means you can enjoy the Na'vi action with one other friend along the way.

This was confirmed following the game's showcase at the 2023 Ubisoft Forward event. As per the official website:

Your adventure can also be shared: play Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora either in single-player, or two-player online co-op.

That said, we don't yet know what shape this will take in the finished game. Whether it's a case of drop-in co-op where you can play the whole campaign with a friend, or just specific save files entirely separate to your core save, like in Baldur's Gate 3, we just don't know yet.

However, Far Cry 6 provides a solid template for what we can expect from Avatar Frontiers of Pandora's co-op modes. In that game, you can play through the whole campaign with a friend, with drop-in capabilities throughout. Expect more of the same in Frontiers of Pandora.

How to access Avatar Frontiers of Pandora co-op

One thing that still remains unclear is how to actually boot into a co-op lobby in Avatar Frontiers of Pandora. In Far Cry 6 you had to complete a specific mission early into the campaign to unlock it, so that'll probably be the same case here. Once you've cleared the tutorial and that specific mission, you'll be able to either host or join a lobby, adding friends to enjoy the game together.
