Apex Legends weapon mastery - How does it work?

Apex Legends weapon mastery is a brand-new feature making its way to the hugely popular battle royale. In a bid to incentivise players to use every single weapon in the arsenal, Respawn Entertainment has created a new progression system for Apex Legends, containing opportunities to earn a variety of rewards.

Weapon mastery arrives as part of the Season 17 update which is set to usher in plenty of new content and adjustments to various aspects of the game.

What is Apex Legends weapon mastery?

Apex Legends weapon mastery is a brand-new weapon progression system making its debut in Season 17. At the start of the season, all players will start with a weapon mastery level of 1.

To earn weapon XP, deal damage, score kills, and complete the challenges. Each weapon in the arsenal comes with 100 levels and every 20 levels will unlock a trial. Complete the trial to get your hands on the reward.

Apex Legends weapon mastery challenges

So far, we only know a few weapon mastery trials arriving to Apex Legends. Here's a rough idea of what to expect:

• Down enemies from 25 metres away while ADS
• Score 3 kills with the weapon while the level 3 magazine is equipped in a match
• Kraber's last trial is to score a 360 no-scope

Apex Legends weapon mastery rewards

With the new season finally here, we've got a closer look at some of the weapon mastery rewards you can earn. Here's all the intel:

• Guaranteed Legendary skin for each weapon from a Legendary Apex Weapon Pack - Unlocked by reaching level 100
• Banner frames
• Performance trackers
• Mastery level badges

If you've already unlocked the skin, you'll earn some crafting materials instead.

When does Apex Legends Season 17 start?
