Genshin Impact Andrius - Where To Find, Fight Mechanics And Rewards

Genshin Impact is an open-world game with vast regions, full of flora, fauna, and curious locations such as ruins and temples. However, it is also filled with different sorts of enemies to confront that come in different forms and factions. Today, we’ll be talking about Andrius, the Dominator of Wolves.

Andrius - Overview and Location

Andrius is a Boss located in the Mondstadt region, located in a circular underground arena-like structure in Wolvendom, and he looks like a giant blue wolf that uses Cryo attacks in battle. After it’s defeated, the player must consume 40 Original Resin to claim her drops, which consist of various Artifacts and Ascension Materials for several different characters.

Andrius - Abilities and Attacks

Phase 1

Wolf Leap: Andrius jumps toward the ice circle that appears on the ground.
Wolf Charge: Andrius will quickly dash towards you.
Wolf Slash: Andrius raises the front legs and slashes towards the front.
Tail Sweep:

  • Melee: Andrius raises his hind legs and sweeps his tail, hitting you.
  • Ranged: Andrius raises his hind legs and sweeps his tail while shooting small icicles towards you.
Spinning Slash: Andrius creates circular ice surfaces around him before spinning quickly. This move is unblockable that cannot be dodged.

Interlude Phase

Andrius runs in a circle, and will Wolf Charge towards you when he stops, two times. Next, he will Wolf Leaps to the middle of the arena, either moving onto Phase 1 or Phase 2 if certain triggers are met.

  • Trigger for Phase 1: Slightly above 50% of HP left. At 50% HP, Andrius will not take any additional damage and gains the Anemo element.
  • Trigger for Phase 2: You take too long to defeat him.

Phase 2

Phase 1 abilities can still be used in this phase.
Icicle Storm: Summons icicles and the edge of the arena will be covered by Cryo that deals damage if stood in.
Wolf King Roar: Andrius charges and then roars, dealing continuous damage in a huge AoE around him.
Ice Waves: Andrius creates an ice path in front of him, then releases ice waves on the path.
Wind Blades: Andrius summons 3 vertical wind blades in a 60° forward arc.
Small Phantom Wolf: Andrius summons a small wolf familiar to attack you. These will slowly escalate in appearance and attack speed as time progresses.

  • Trigger: When his HP falls below 20%.
  • Trigger 2: If you take too long to defeat him.

Andrius - Fight Strategy

Pyro, Electro, and Geo are the Elements you want to use here, since Andrius is immune to Anemo and Cryo, and using Hydro will only freeze yourself if you apply Wet. Diluc, Bennet, Klee, Albedo, and Keqing, all those units are really useful against this enemy not only because of their elements but also because of their mobility, damage output, and the potential to make the fight generally easier (Albedo’s talents help you to avoid Andrius entirely).
