Warzone players are growing tired of the jumpscares that arrived as part of The Haunting event.

2023's Warzone Halloween event is in full swing and to celebrate the spooky season, various elements of Warzone have received a makeover. In addition to a variety of Halloween skins, jumpscares have been frightening unsuspecting players opening supply boxes over the course of a match.

After a few weeks of scaring, players dropping into the action have had enough. Instead of the jumpscares adding a scary twist to the process of looting, fans are growing tired of the short bursts of terror attempting to disrupt their gameplay.

During a recent stream, content creator Ebatez_ encounters a jumpscare but instead of reacting to the screaming face, the streamer expresses his frustration with the feature.

"That stuff is so annoying bro," says Ebatez after the jumpscare disappears from his screen. It turns out the streamer isn't the only one growing tired of The Haunting jumpscares. Another player adds: "I just hate how they block my whole screen."

Alongside disrupting players attempting to gather loot in the game's early stages, the jumpscares are also ruining the final circles. One fan says: "[Jumpscares are annoying] especially when I'm trying to open boxes end game and I can't hear the enemy."

Although jumpscares have run their course, The Haunting event has proven popular among Warzone players. One believes the spooky update is the best Call of Duty has ever been which is definitely high praise.

Thankfully, it's not long before The Haunting jumpscares will disappear once and for all. Warzone and Modern Warfare 2's Halloween event ends on November 6, four days before the full launch of Modern Warfare 3.

Unfortunately, there's no way of disabling jumpscares when you're in a match. On the plus side, they'll soon disappear as attention starts turning towards the launch of the brand-new Urzikstan map and the integration of new features to mark Warzone's next chapter.
