Keeping track of upcoming events has been chaotic in the last few years. While E3 is traditionally the home for gaming's biggest announcements, last year's cancellation led to a wide scattering of different events. As many countries still deal with the COVID-19 pandemic, that's set to continue in 2021.
We'll keep this updated as we learn more, but here's everything we know so far about upcoming events.

London Games Festival - April 1-10
London Games Festival 2022 is returning in 2022, encompassing several events like W.A.S.D and The BAFTA Games Awards on 7 April.
2022 BAFTA Games Awards - April 7
The 2022 BAFTA Games Awards are going ahead this April, broadcasting live on Twitch. Nominations will be announced on March 3, also via Twitch, taking place at 5am PT / 8am ET / 1pm GMT / 2pm CET.
W.A.S.D - April 7-9
Following EGX's move away from Rezzed, former organiser David Lilley has confirmed a new event at Tobacco Dock, London. Calling this W.A.S.D, you can check that out here.
PAX East 2022 - April 21-24
PAX East 2022 has announced their return to an in-person event, lasting four days from Thursday, April 21 to Sunday, April 24. Taking place at the Boston Convention and Exhibition Center, they've mandated that proof of vaccination and face masks are required to attend.
Indie Expo Live - May 21-22
Indie Expo Live is back once again for 2022. We're awaiting further details right now as developers make their submission requests, but it'll be broadcasts in English, Japanese, and Chinese on YouTube, Twitch, and more.
Wholesome Direct - June 2022
Wholesome Direct is back once again this June. There's no confirmed presentation date just yet, though we'll keep this updated when that happens.
Summer Games Fest 2022 - June 2022
While E3 2022 has officially been cancelled, Geoff Keighley confirmed Summer Games Fest is back once again this June. We're awaiting further details but you can find out more here:
Future Games Show @E3 - June 11
GamesRadar advised that the second Future Games Show of 2022 takes place around E3, though the current June 11 date isn't guaranteed.
Gamescom 2022 - August 24-28
As confirmed by VentureBeat, Gamescom 2022 returns as an in-person game expo in Cologne, Germany. That's accompanied by the development focused Devcom event (August 22-23). Less tickets will be sold due to Covid-19 rules, and we'll keep this updated when more information becomes available.
Future Games Show @Gamescom - August 24
GamesRadar confirmed that 2022's final Future Games Show takes place in August. However, much like E3's showcase, the August 24 date is currently listed as "TBC" and we don't have full details just yet.
Tokyo Game Show 2022 - September 15-18
Tokyo Game Show returns as a physical event this year, held within the Makuhari Messe in Chiba City. Announcing 2022's theme is “Nothing Stops Gaming,” September 15-16 are business days, while September 17 and 18 will be public days.
EGX London - September 22-25
EGX's back in London on September 22 this year, returning to London's Excel Centre. You can find more details here.
