Geoff Keighley's confirmed that The Game Awards 20221 will be an in-person event. Taking place at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles on December 9, that'll be live streamed globally.
Last year's event didn't feature a live audience due to the COVID-19 pandemic, though with a global vaccination rollout, live events are slowly returning. Accordingly, The Game Awards will return to its original setup, though it's unclear if they'll allow a full capacity or limit the number of attendees.
The Game Awards Return As An In-Person Event This December
Geoff Keighley is back as The Game Awards' executive producer. He mentioned that he and his team want to "bring the entire community together," stating:
“Our goal is to bring the entire community together to celebrate the most powerful form of entertainment in the world, and recognize emerging voices that represent the future of the medium.”
The Game Awards will be live streamed across 40 different platforms, promising there'll be “free playable game content” for those who watch. Make sure to follow us for more gaming news and updates.
