The long-awaited Stardew Valley 1.6 patch is finally seeing the light of day. According to ConcernedApe, it will launch on March 19.

The developer shared via social media that the 1.6 patch is dropping on March 19, adding that it will be hitting PC first, with console and mobile players having to wait even longer to get the update.

Stardew Valley 1.6 is more than just a regular patch, in fact, it's so big that ConcernedApe revealed back in January that it's bigger in scope than he originally envisioned it. Ape also confirmed that he had completed the process of adding content he was working on patching and polishing details, as well as solving bug fixes.

Despite stating in 2021 that he was most likely done with Stardew Valley and the chances of having more content updates were slim as ConcernedApe shifted focus to other titles, 1.6 is set to be the biggest of them all, funnily enough.

Stardew Valley 1.6 could be the final update to the game

Some of the stuff players can expect from the patch include a new major festival and two smaller ones, new skill areas, more items and crafting recipes, over 100 new dialogue options and potentially even more NPCs to interact with.

For PC players, the game will be able to support up to eight players in a single farm, doubling the amount currently available. Sadly, this doesn't seem like a feature console or mobile players can expect when those versions of Stardew Valley get the update.

Truly, it seems that Stardew Valley 1.6 will be the game's swansong as ConcernedApe continues to develop Haunted Chocolatier, his follow-up title in which players take control of a chocolate confections owner.

Stardew fans will be eating good in the meantime, as on top of the 1.6 update, they'll be getting the highly anticipated Stardew Valley cookbook written by ConcernedApe, set for release in May. Finally, the Stardew Valley Festival of Seasons musical tour has just started.
