Two years ago Ubisoft announced that Splinter Cell Remake is happening, and since then total silence. However, with the Ubisoft Forward showcase happening this coming June, fans are expecting some updates. Hopes are especially high after a Sam Fisher tease by the Ubisoft Toronto Facebook Profile
On April 3rd, Ubisoft promised new information on "updates and upcoming releases" on its next online showcase. While the studio didn't go into any details, apparently to avoid any spoilers or ruined surprises, fans of Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell started to make noise after noticing that the Facebook header of Ubisoft Toronto had been changed to the iconic green goggles of Sam Fisher.
Back in 2022, Ubisoft had stated that they were "rewriting and updating the story for a modern-day audience," but after over two years of the announcement the studio has been totally silent.
While it is understandable that the studio is doing a complete revamp and remake of the game, possibly from scratch, it is a strangely long period without any updates. In fact, in their most recent financial report, Ubisoft has no mention of Splinter Cell, making it seem like the project doesn't even exist.
The studio stated the full extent of its releases will be announced in the full-year financial results in May, which will include the likes of Star Wars Outlaws, The Division Resurgence, and Assassin's Creed Red.
Even with such a small tease and the total lack of any information from Ubisoft, fans can’t help but be excited. Even a mention of the project being worked on would be appreciated by many. There is a buzz around discussion platforms like Reddit, but like most gaming fans these days, they are only cautiously optimistic.
