Sony just had its best November ever, as the company was able to sell 50 million PlayStation 5 consoles, a truly amazing feat. While the system doesn’t have too many must-have exclusives right now, being backward-compatible with PS4 games has made this a great current-gen system for many.

A report from Forbes has confirmed that this is the company’s best-selling November ever, thanks to the PS5 sales doing incredibly well. Considering how the system has suffered from supply shortages and being a target of scalpers, this is an incredible feat for the company.

It’s too soon to say if the Sony PlayStation 5 will outsell its predecessor, the PlayStation 4, but this does show that the system will have a healthy life cycle. Now that more gamers will have a PlayStation 5, this means Sony can develop more exclusives and they could potentially do well in sales.

Many fans feel that developing games for the PS4 and PS5 has hindered Sony a bit, as it meant customers wouldn’t have to upgrade right away. However, now that the system has more titles like Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 and Returnal, this could be a turning point.

Unfortunately, it’s not all great news for Sony, as one of their major developers was hit with a leak that revealed most of their plans. Insomniac Games was a victim of a hack, resulting in plenty of games getting leaked and employees having their data out in the open. While it’s fun knowing when to expect Wolverine and Marvel’s Spider-Man 3, it’s less so when normal people have their privacy leaked.

Even with all of that, the folks at Sony can rest well, knowing that their system is beloved by many gamers and they can make more titles for it. Hopefully, we don’t get any more hacks like the one that hit Insomniac, since that just demoralizes employees.
