With the success of Persona 3 Reload, rumours have already spread of Atlus working on more remakes from the franchise. As fans wait for Persona 6, a well-known leaker has said that there are remakes for Persona 2 and Persona 4 in the works.

Midori, a well-known Atlus leaker, has claimed that remakes for both 2 and 4 are in the works, getting fans everywhere excited. Fans should take this news with a grain of salt but Midori has gotten a ton of Atlus news right before, so there’s some credibility here.

Remaking Persona 4 is less impressive since a great port for Golden is readily available, but a remake of Persona 2 is huge news for hardcore fans. Persona fans have assumed that Atlus would only focus on 3, 4, and 5, so seeing one of the first two games get a remake is a welcome change.

For those unaware, Persona 2 first came out on the PS1 and is split into two versions: Innocent Sin and Eternal Punishment. Both games are considered classics, with many feeling that these two titles never get the appreciation they deserve. It will be interesting to see if both games are merged into one or Atlus just releases two different remakes.

No introduction is needed for Persona 4, as this entry is arguably the most popular in the franchise. Coming out after Persona 3, Persona 4 pretty much changed everything by doubling down on the social sim elements while also having a lighter tone. The Golden re-release is so good that fans bought a PS Vita for the game before it got re-released on other systems.

Considering the impressive job Atlus did with Persona 3 Reload, we can see why they would pivot to more remakes. It would be nice if they concentrated on making Persona 6, but fans have been begging for more Persona 2 representation. Persona 4 doesn’t need a remake but a lot of the assets from Reload can be reused here, so that’s a direction we can see happening.
