Mortal Kombat 11 is one of the generation's biggest fighting games, and it's about to get even bigger as NetherRealm Studios and Warner Bros have announced a new expansion, Aftermath, is coming on May 26 to PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and PC.

A story-based DLC (the first of its kind in franchise history), Aftermath picks up immediately after the end of the base game's campaign and brings back Shang Tsung and Sheeva, as well as wind god Fujin.

Headlining the DLC's new characters though is Robocop, who is portrayed by Peter Weller, the original actor. Weller is reprising the role for the first time since 1990's Robocop 2.

We'd be lying if we said we aren't a little disappointed that Ermac and Smoke haven't made the cut yet, but the prospect of Spawn squaring off against The Joker, or Robocop going metallic toe to metallic toe with The Terminator.

Elsewhere, players that don't want to pick up the DLC are being treated to extra content, too. Classic arenas like the Dead Pool and Soul Chamber from earlier games are being added for free for all players, as are friendships – match-ending bouts of kindness.
