Modern Warfare 3 has one of the slowest times to kill in the entire Call of Duty franchise. As a series known for its rapid gunplay, Call of Duty: MW3 may be the most tepid of the franchise.

That's according to one content creator who compared and contrasted the average time it takes to eliminate opponents on all releases since Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare.

Following the first beta weekend for Modern Warfare 3, players were quick to share their concerns surrounding Sledgehammer Games' latest project. Ranging from alarmingly awful spawns to maps branded as ugly recreations, there are still a few issues that need ironing out before the full release of the game rolls around.

The latest area of Modern Warfare 3 to capture the attention of players is the time to kill. In previous Call of Duty titles, the time to kill has been incredibly fast giving players no time to react to any incoming opponents over the course of a match. For Modern Warfare 3, Sledgehammer Games has increased the base health of players to 150, resulting in a longer time to kill and a chance for a more even battle.

For a closer look, Call of Duty content creator TheXclusiveAce has compared Modern Warfare 3's time to kill with all releases since 2007 and it appears it has the second-slowest time to kill.

The graphs for the average assault rifle and SMG time to kill put it behind Treyarch's Black Ops 4 with an average time to kill of just under 300 milliseconds.

Despite the data revealing a high average, players claim various guns and weapons displayed varying degrees of inconsistency over the course of a match. One fan says: "Felt widely inconsistent to me. Something's definitely not right." Another adds: "I think the average TTK (time to kill) is great, but too many guns deviate from the average. Some are melt machines and others are hitmarker machines."

The majority of players are enjoying a longer time to kill in Modern Warfare 3 as it offers an opportunity to win their engagements based on reaction times and their levels of accuracy. Sledgehammer Games is listening to feedback, so there's every chance time to kill adjustments is on the horizon for the second beta weekend kicking off on October 12.
