If you thought Minecraft was too easy as is, wait until you hear about the newly announced Hardcore mode, which will be available for all players on the Minecraft Bedrock Edition, as the Java edition had a version already available.

This isn't the regular Hardcore mode from the Java version of Minecraft however, as there are plenty more challenges added for players this time around, including the addition of permadeath.

In a blog post, Minecraft developers explained that Hardcore mode is a sub-category of Survival mode. Players familiar with this mode know what to expect, but the addition of permadeath will raise the stakes.

After dying, you can only spectate your world, it's locked on the highest difficulty level. The world itself will be deleted, but if you want to play using the same settings, you'll have to create another world.

As Mojang is still trying to balance the experience, it will be available initially as a beta and preview for all Minecraft Bedrock Edition platforms. You can try out these features by enabling a testing version of Minecraft, called previews or betas for the Bedrock Edition.

Minecraft Hardcore mode is the real deal

Furthermore, if you're a Realm owner, the preview and beta tests will be available on Xbox, Windows 10/11, Android and iOS. Realms are essentially Minecraft's version of private servers, where players are allowed to customise their experience even more.

If you're not keen on jumping through some hoops and loops to get the preview or beta version of Minecraft, then you'll have to wait until we have more information about the implementation of hardcore mode in the main servers.

As mentioned, Mojang is looking to finetune the experience so it's the best it can be for all players and didn't give an estimated official release date for Hardcore mode.
