Microsoft confirm Xbox 360 backward compatibility for Xbox One

In a shocking announcement, Microsoft have announced that Xbox 360 games will now be playable on Xbox One. Yes, really!

Phil Spencer took to the stage at E3, and did the unthinkable. Microsoft had previously stated that backwards compatibility was impossible. Not anymore, apparently

At E3, we saw Mass Effect being played on Xbox One, but with the modern features you've come to expect from current-gen, such as screenshots, broadcasting, Game Clips and improved live services. We were told that compatible 360 discs can be put into your Xbox One, the game will be installed and you can jump right in.

Apparently, Preview Members will be able to access the backwards compatibility from tonight. The full launch will hit this Holiday.

Here's the full list of games currently available.
