Mario Golf Swings Its Way to Nintendo Switch Online Expansion Pack

Mario Golf is the latest N64 classic coming to Nintendo Switch Online as part of the Expansion Pack tier. This is the latest game in an ever-growing list of N64 games that already include titles like Banjo-Kazooie, The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask, and Paper Mario, amongst other big names.

Like Mario Tennis, Mario Golf was an instant classic when it arrived on the N64 thanks to its ability to combine standard golf mechanics with settings and modes inspired by Mario games. Future entries in the Mario Golf series would follow the template of this beloved sports title, including last year’s Mario Golf: Super Rush for Nintendo Switch.

Interestingly enough, Mario Golf also had a Game Boy Color game that was completely different from its N64 counterpart, acting as an RPG with golf mechanics.

Players that linked their Game Boy Color with the N64 would be able to unlock the male and female avatars from the handheld version, making us wonder if Nintendo will incorporate them for this re-release.
