Hideo Kojima continues to be one of the biggest auteurs in gaming, with plenty of excitement surrounding his upcoming projects: Death Stranding 2 and OD. As a way to bring fans into the new year, Kojima decided to share some interesting development details about these two titles.

On Twitter, Kojima gave fans some interesting development updates regarding his two games, though no hint at a release date. Unsurprisingly, Death Stranding 2 has progressed a bit more, with Kojima confirming that they still need to add some ADR and record Japanese voices.

As for OD, Hideo Kojima did say that they will be shooting scenes for the “game” soon since this is an odd media hybrid. With horror director Jordan Peele involved, it should have a cool story, though things would be a lot better if this were just a proper video game.

Beyond these two games, Kojima also mentions the upcoming Death Stranding movie and writes a lot more. He also mentions wanting to bring back old projects like Hide Radio in the future, showing how much ambition the auteur has left.

Whenever a project has the name “Hideo Kojima” on it, fans are going to be in for something unique, to say the least. Quality is subjective but there’s no doubt that Kojima is always trying to push boundaries with his gaming projects, which is pretty admirable.

Death Stranding is the first and only project Kojima has released since his split with Konami. At the time, it got a mixed reception from fans since it was too cutscene-heavy and gameplay didn’t pick up till later on. However, the recent pandemic has made fans appreciate the game a bit more, hence, excitement for the upcoming sequel and movie.
