Tango Gameworks' surprise hit Hi-Fi Rush could be headed to Nintendo Switch according to recent reports that indicate a critically acclaimed first-party Xbox title will be coming to other platforms in 2024.

The rumour first came via Nate Drake during his Nate The Hate podcast. The insider who has a positive track record when it comes to future unannounced projects, stated the following:

The title I am referring to was met with high critical acclaim, fans loved it, it was in the GOTY conversation the year it released. When the announcement comes I think it's going to be met with a lot of excitement because this is a quality game.

He then added that, to his knowledge, this title is the one they're currently focusing on porting but doesn't discard the idea of other first-party titles coming to other consoles this year.

Fans were reminded of Hi-Fi Rush, a beloved game that was released last year and developed by Tango Gameworks, of The Evil Within fame. This colorful, innovative, and charming little gem was released in January 2023 without prior announcement and received an impressive score of 87 on Metacritic.

Hi-Fi Rush could be a smash hit on Switch

That score is slightly higher than Starfield's 83, which might be disappointing for some given the extensive marketing campaign by Microsoft to position Bethesda's space opera as a possible game of the year contender.

Another comment adding more validity to the rumour that Hi-Fi Rush is the game coming to Switch comes via ResetEra, a popular gaming forum. User lolilolailo responded to a few users stating that Tango's game was the clear candidate to be ported, confirming their suspicions to be correct.

Lolilolailo is also a popular leaker with a good track record. They're most known for stating back in 2022 that Atlus was developing a full-on Persona 3 remake. Almost two years later, Persona 3 Reload is set to release on February 2.

Now, despite all of this coming from reliable sources, it's worth taking the information with a grain of salt. Plans can change suddenly and the possibility of seeing Hi-Fi Rush, or any Xbox exclusive for that matter, on other consoles, might not come to fruition.

Still, it's hard to not picture a game like Hi-Fi Rush on the Nintendo system, with how easy it is to pick up and play; dunking on a few corporate hacks on your way to work sounds like a blast. It would definitely pair excellently with the seemingly impending Switch 2.
