The GTA 6 trailer is still gaining views as we speak, due to how anticipated this open-world title has been. While many fans were disappointed with the lack of gameplay, a former Rockstar Games developer has stated that the whole game will look like the trailer.

Mike York, a former Rockstar Games developer, posted a reaction video to the trailer, before talking about some of the game’s development. York says he worked on GTA 5 as well and then stated that Rockstar will be pushing the boundaries of consoles with this open-world title.

“I’m really impressed with how far they’re bringing the graphics for an in-game kind of version of this,” York explains (via VG247). “A lot of times you see [cinematics used], this is not that, when you play this game, it’s really gonna look like this.”

Rockstar Games does have a track record for using their in-game graphics engine for cutscenes, so that might track with this trailer. Plus, GTA 6 is a huge generational leap from PS3, where GTA 5 was first released, to PS5, so the graphics could end up looking this good. Only time will tell, but York could be right and this game might look this stunning when it comes out in 2025.

Fans have a lot of high hopes for this open-world sequel, especially if these visuals are supposed to represent the in-game graphics engine. We can only imagine how good the final product will look, especially when it ends up on PC, though that will take a while, given Rockstar’s track record.

Overall, there’s no denying that GTA 6 is a game many are excited about, whether it’s the open-world gameplay or the attractive lead character Lucia. While some fans are being pretty lame about the game, we’re sure this will be, at the very least, a competent open-world title.
