Epic Games love Greek mythology and it seems Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 2 will finally give us a season themed around their ancient history, according to information from reliable insiders.

Known leaker and credible source of Fortnite information, HYPEX (via Chief Ako and Wensoing), mentioned there are multiple hints that point to Fortnite's next season being themed around Greek mythology.

The most telling tidbit of information includes the current Chapter 5 Season 1 map, which has a ton of landmarks that resemble Greek architecture. The biggest one is Ruined Reels, which boasts large stone pillars, buildings resembling those typically seen in ancient Greece depictions, and even a small Greek theatre.

That's far from the only clue, as HYPEX mentioned - a recent survey sent by Epic Games to Fortnite players included information about possible Greek mythology-themed skins. On top of that, it seems an upcoming boss NPC in Chapter 5 Season 2 might spawn from lightning, possibly hinting at Zeus.

Fortnite x Greek mythology? Yes, please

If you're a long-time fan you might also know that every Fortnite map is named after a Greek god. However, this reference has not had any significant impact on the game. If rumours are to be believed, then in Chapter 5 Season 2 we may finally get an explanation for why the islands in Fortnite are named after figures from ancient mythology.

The first map in Fortnite (the one everyone knows and loves) is called Athena, while the second (Chapter 2), third (Chapter 3), and fourth (Chapter 4) maps are named Apollo, Artemis, and Asteria, respectively. The fifth and current map is named Helios.

It'll take a few months before we get to see what are the plans for Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 2 considering Season 1 just kicked off less than two weeks ago. In any case, we'll be sure to keep you updated as more information and leaks come along.

Just thinking about a Fortnite Greek mythology-themed season sounds incredible. The potential for amazing skins, new weapons and tools to populate the island centred around all different Greek gods, and of course, tons of quests while we get to meet the likes of Athena, Apollo, Ares, and more.
