Warzone Ural Mountains Map: Release Date, Leaks And Everything You Need To Know

The first season of post-launch content for Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War and Call of Duty: Warzone is well underway.

Season One saw one of the largest drops of free content and included everything from new weapons, maps, game modes, and a new Warzone map named Rebirth Island.

While players seem content with Verdansk and Rebirth Island as the two Warzone maps available, attention has once again turned to the release of a brand-new, large-scale map for the popular battle royale game.

The latest rumours are suggesting that the release of a brand-new Warzone map is on the horizon.

Warzone Ural Mountains Map

According to notable Call of Duty leaker TheGamingRevolution, the Ural Mountains will play host to the new map, with Fireteam map Ruka being positioned in the centre of it.

Treyarch and Infinity Ward using the large Fireteam maps as pieces of the Warzone map would make a lot of sense. Infinity Ward created Verdansk by sticking several Ground War maps together to create a map with a variety of environments.

Currently, there are just two Fireteam maps included in Black Ops Cold War. Ruka and Alpine are both set in the Ural Mountains and their in-game codes both start with the letters “wz”, seemingly suggesting that they will feature in a new Warzone map.

Alongside the Fireteam maps, it wouldn’t be surprising to see some of the smaller multiplayer maps feature as some of the less significant points of interest on the map.

Ural Mountains Map Release Date

Although there has been no official information released surrounding the introduction of a brand-new Warzone map, current rumours are pointing towards a 2021 launch, specifically in March.

March 2021 would be a logical time to release a brand-new Warzone map as it would coincide with the first anniversary of the game.

Will Verdansk Disappear?

It is unclear as to whether Verdansk will remain in Warzone once the new map has released.

The developers could create a separate playlist for the map, or they could take a leaf from Fortnite’s book and keep the battle royale focused on one playing field.

There are still a few months to go before the rumoured release date so we will have to wait and see what the future holds for Verdansk.
