Borderlands ReReRelease Collection Coming to PS4 & Xbox One

Borderlands: The Handsome Collection has been officially announced by 2K, and will be coming to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on March 27th, 2015. The new collection will include Borderlands 2, and all subsequent DLC/Season Pass content, and Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel, and all subsequent DLC/Season Pass content.

This will make the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 the seventh and eighth platforms Borderlands 2 will be released on, and the second full re-release of the game including its DLC. However, to their credit this will at least only be the first re-release of Pre-Sequel with all its DLC.

2K are proudly boasting both games have been “COMPLETELY REMASTERED”, whatever that means, but more importantly are adding in 4 player couch co-op (AKA split-screen) and the ability to transfer old saves. As long as it's from the same platform family (Xbox to Xbox, PlayStation to PlayStation).

So far so okay, as far as re-releases go on the current console generation. 2K, clearly predicting the pessimism, have countered by also announcing the “Claptrap-In-A-Box Edition”. Which does pretty much exactly what it says on the box.

This edition will include 12 lithographs (postcards), a steelbook (reasonably pretty), and a remote controlled Claptrap – with the ability to be controlled via your smartphone, spout catchphrases on command, and show a live feed direct to your phone from the camera built into the eye.

Wow. Much credit to 2K for the idea and design of that Claptrap, it looks absolutely fantastic.

That credit being given, it will be limited to 5,000 worldwide, and will cost £265.95 (or $399 if you're into your dollars). Essentially meaning you can buy Borderlands 2 on every possible platform, and all the DLC on said platforms, for less than this one edition.

If you do happen to have £265, and are able to get one pre-ordered once they're available, then this is the little guy you'll be getting:
