Bethesda Will Be Closing Down Their Online Forums And Moving To Discord

Today Bethesda announced in a blog post, that they will be shutting down their online forums found on Bethesda.net and will be making the move to Discord.

From series such as The Elder Scrolls, Fallout, and Wolfenstein the forums are a place players can go to share content, ask questions, and be involved in a community about their favorite Bethesda games.

With the forums moving to a Discord server, they will be able to foster a better community over there, however, people that use the forums as a way to ask a question about a common issue they encounter in-game may find it more tedious to find an answer.

"The forums have seen many changes over the years, and we’ve enjoyed seeing our community grow and evolve alongside Bethesda and all of our games. Now, though, with the numerous ways people are communicating, we feel the time is right to move away from the forums and chat with you where you prefer to be." Bethesda said in their blog post.

It is clear they are after a more community-driven platform and Discord is definitely the place for it.

Beginning on May 24, the process of closing down the forums will begin by turning all categories read-only. People can still access the forums but are just unable to post, and will be given 30 days to save any posts they want to keep.

On July 6th, they will begin archiving the smaller categories and working their way up, and once archived fans will no longer be able to view them.

The Elder Scrolls Online Players will still have access to their own Forums as it is a separate page.
