Remedy Entertainment has revealed that Alan Wake 2 will be getting New Game Plus soon, indicating that it could be coming this month. It’s a great reason to replay one of the year’s best games, assuming players haven’t already done that for fun.
The official Alan Wake 2 Twitter account released an image confirming that New Game Plus will be coming out soon. On the post, Remedy wrote “New month, new game... plus?” telling fans that the mode will be coming out this month.
Since The Game Awards will be happening soon, we’re sure news about New Game Plus will be there. Hopefully, it comes with a live performance for Herald of Darkness, since most will agree that it’s one of the best parts of the game, if not the best.
Luckily, this isn’t the end of new content coming to the sequel, as Remedy has confirmed that two expansions are coming to Alan Wake 2. No release dates were given for them, though they are called Night Springs and The Lake House, the latter of which isn’t related to that one Keanu Reeves film.
It’s hard to complain about more Alan Wake 2 content since the sequel ended up being one of this year’s best games. While the gameplay doesn’t do anything drastic, the crazy story, unique settings, and the story playing with creation is so interesting. Seeing these ideas executed so well makes this incredibly long wait worth it.
New Game Plus should be an interesting way to keep this game interesting, especially if there will be brand-new story elements. Although the gameplay is good, Alan Wake is a very story-focused series and fans will want a reason to replay this horror title. Some costumes would be nice, though we wouldn’t bet the house on that.
