Healing is probably one of the most important aspects of winning a game in Fortnite, at least in the competitive sphere. Because the more health you have towards the end of the game, the higher chances you have of winning the match.
That being said, one popular Fortnite pro known as Qrei used this very fact to his advantage and went far ahead in the competitive sphere with very little to no eliminations at all.
Here's everything we know about it.
Healing gets nerfed in Fortnite
It's slightly ironic to see a feature like healing get nerfed to be very honest. While the use of Medkits and bandages still remains untouched, healing at a campfire is what has actually been nerfed.
The main reason behind the nerf was because Fortnite pro Qrei used this to his advantage. Instead of engaging in battles from the very beginning in Fortnite, he chose to wait in the storm with his team mates while huddling in front of a camp fire.
Now, if you've been playing Fortnite for a while now, you will know that standing in front of a campfire will heal you. However, to keep doing this you will need wood.
Before the nerf, this strategy could be used easily because healing at a campfire didn't require too much wood. However, seeing that this mechanic was being misused, Epic Games raised the cost of stoking a campfire to 600 wood.
This makes things difficult because late games are more build battles than gun fights, so you need as much material as you can. This makes healing at a campfire somewhat redundant.
Qrei moved on to another strategy after the nerf. His current strategy uses Reboot Vans extensively. That being said, the Fortnite pro believes that this is one final strategy that remains. If this gets nerfed as well, then heal offs won't be a thing in Fortnite anymore.
Whether or not Epic Games nerfs this bit is something that only time will tell.
