Fortnite 17.21 Patch Notes

The Fortnite 17.21 is almost here. This update may not be as eventful as the previous update considering that we've had a huge update just last week.

However, this update will probably bring to us a considerable amount of progression in the Fortnite storyline.

Just like every other Fortnite update we'll be seeing a few bug fixes, as indicated by the Fortnite Community Trello.

Here's everything we know about the Fortnite 17.21 update.

Bug Fixes

As listed on their Trello Board, here are the bug fixes that we'll be seeing with the Fortnite 17.21 update:

  • Battle Royale:
    • Inflate-A-Bull temporarily disabled in competitive playlists.
    • Cosmic Chest timers may remain on screen if a Bounty is poached.
    • Props drive vehicles erratically.
  • Creative:
    • Grass with Epic settings
    • Vehicle explosion not properly triggered with "Destroyed with Transmit" on.
  • Save The World:
    • Wrong Event Ticket displayed on the Beyond Stellar Horizons quest

New Weapon

The Bad News Pistol, also known as the Plasma Cannon has made it's way into the game files. From the looks of it, it looks like a Mythic weapon.

So some NPC will probably have it, and we'll have to defeat them to get it.

New Lobby Background

The Lobby Background also got updated. It will be depicting abductors while you queue up for your matches.

That being said, this could also be considered as an indicator for the upcoming map changes that we'll be seeing in the game.

The event countdown will be visible in the lobby too.

The friend list UI has also received a tweak in this update. It looks cleaner and has cut down on the clutter.

Map Changes

Coral Castle won't be the only one that's being destroyed. The Fortnite update today revealed that Slurpy Swamps and Corny Complex will also get abducted soon, but in chunks.

These areas are also scheduled to turn into no gravity zones as well. The I.O. base that's neatly hidden under Corny Complex will also receive some damage. Here's how it's supposed to look.

Here's the first look at one of the chunks of Coral Castle after it's been abducted by the Mothership. The chunks will have multiple stages to them.

Social Tab

Although we may not see the Social Tab go live right after the Fortnite 17.21 update, it's receiving quite the number of tweaks.

That being said, here is how the social tab looks finally. Moreover, it's got an interesting rift background as well.

Event Details

The upcoming event in Fortnite will have at least two cosmetics associated with it. You'll be able to win these cosmetics by completing challenges.

There are a few tags with respect to the event as well. Other than that, there are a few ambient sounds that are mentioned in the Mothership event too.

That's all we have for now. We'll update this piece once the update goes live.
