Fortnite Chapter 3, Season 2 Removes Building, Adds Doctor Strange

Fortnite Chapter 3, Season 2 has finally arrived and Epic's introduced some interesting changes. With Doctor Strange marking the latest star crossover through the battle pass - we've also got Tsuki 2.0, Gunnar, The Imagined, Kiara K.O., The Origin and Erisa - Fortnite's also removed building during Season 2.

Detailed in a new announcement, Epic confirmed:

“Building has been wiped out. To help maintain cover, you now have an Overshield on top of your Shield and Health. The Overshield is your first line of defence: before your Shield and Health take a hit, it’s your Overshield that’ll crack. Your Overshield will still recover if it goes all the way down to 0.”

Thankfully, if you're a fan of building, this hasn't been affected in competitive and arena playlists, so you've still got options. Changes to movement speed are also live, which now has a faster default speed and quicker sprint, alongside a new sprint meter to keep this balanced. Finally, there's two new weapons available, Combat SMG and Striker Burst Rifle.

Fortnite is available now on Nintendo Switch, PC, Android, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One. Epic Games also revealed that from March 20 to April 3, all Fortnite proceeds are being donated to humanitarian relief for the war in Ukraine, with Microsoft contributing its share of store fees towards this.
