Football Manager 2021 has finally been announced and will be launching November 24, but won't be on PlayStation consoles.
That's led to owners of Sony's current-gen console (and prospective PS5 owners), feeling a little hard done by, but Sports Interactive boss Miles Jacobson has explained why the game won't be coming to PS4 or PS5.

Sony Didn't Send Devkits To
Speaking on Twitter, he had this to say:
because to make games for a platform, you need a dev kit. To get a dev kit, the platform holder have to want the game on the platform. We spoke with Sony, we have no dev kits. We spoke with Microsoft, they sent them to us.

"To make games for a platform, you need a devkit", Jacobson noted.
“To get a devkit, the platform holder has to want the game on the platform. We spoke with Sony, [and] we have no devkits. We spoke with Microsoft, [and] they sent them to us.” He added: “There are limited dev kits available. They prioritise games they want on their platform.”
The franchise has appeared on PSP and PlayStation Vita in the past, but hasn't arrived on a Sony home console before.
In the meantime, fans can jump into it on Switch, Xbox One, Series S, Series X, or PC.
The current instalment, Football Manager 2020, was recently available as a free download on the Epic Games Store.
Thankfully, PlayStation fans still have plenty to look forward to.
There's talk of a Bloodborne remaster coming, as well as a potential Metal Gear Solid remake.
Then there's Nolan North noting that he'd love to one day return as Nathan Drake in a new Uncharted title.
