FIFA 22 Sold The Most Physical Copies in 2021


Despite, or perhaps because of, the current lockdowns, FIFA 22 has topped the UK charts in total number of boxed unit sales for 2021.

As seen on GameIndustry.biz's year-end roundup, EA found itself at the top spot for the most sold boxed copies for a game with FIFA 22 in the United Kingdom. Following behind this sports title is Mario Kart 8 Deluxe and Minecraft. In Japan, the best-selling physical game was Capcom's Monster Hunter Rise.

FIFA 22 Sold Most Physical Copies in 2021

As of now, the COVID-19 outbreak has affected many industries including video games. Trying to buy physical copies was out of the question as going out to retail stores was even a health risk. FIFA 22 selling out boxed copies is definitely an achievement for the year this was earned.

In other news, FIFA 23 is still far from happening unless EA Sports and the Fédération Internationale de Football Association agree on settling the $1 Billion demand to license the game. We'll have to wait for more information from both parties if they'll push through with the deal or we'll see FIFA partner with a different developer soon.
