Gfinity FIFA Series February LQE - Players most likely to win

FIFA esports action is coming thick and fast, with the next event on the Road to the FIFA eWorld Cup being the second instalment of the Gfinity FIFA Series. The February event sees over 30 players strut their stuff at the Gfinity Arena in London this weekend, battling it out to claim the $8,750 top prize and 850 FIFA Global Series Points.

Some big names in FIFA esports are coming to London, and we have a look at the five front runners to pick up the victory and take one step closer to the FIFA eWorld Cup at the end of the season.

Nicolas99fcHe’s top of the PlayStation 4 rankings, and after back-to-back success in London, you would back Nicolas ‘Nicolas99fc’ Villalba to go the distance again this time around. The Argentine first made it to the cross-console final in the FUT Champions Cup December, but went down to reigning world champion MsDossary. He then dusted himself to bounce back just a few weeks later to claim the Gfinity FIFA Serie January championship, becoming the first man representing PS4 to win a cross-console final. In this form, it’s hard to bet against him.

F2TekkzYou know he’s going to be there or thereabouts, expect Donovan ‘F2Tekkz’ Hunt to be in the frame come championship Sunday. The Englishman has the most Global Series points across both consoles, and won the first two events in the year (an LQE and FUT Champions Cup) in Bucharest. He has failed to add any silverware in the three tournaments since, but he still reached the Xbox semi-finals at the FUT Champions Cup. This is a man that no one would want to face in London in front of a home crowd.

PSG DaXeAlways a threat to his opponents, Lucas ‘PSG DaXe’ Cuillerier has back-to-back ESWC world championship titles to his name. The Frenchman now needs to start bringing that success outside of the ESWC (Electronic Sports World Convention) and deliver in the Global Series torunaments. He sits in ninth place on the Xbox leaderboard, after making it to the console semi-finals at the FUT Champions Cup December in London. With a taste of the Gfinity Arena under his belt already, he is in the frame to take home the title just a month later.

Stefano PinnaStefano Pinna may have failed to add any silverware since claiming the PS4 world title at the FIFA eWorld Cup last season, but this is a man who keeps churning out the performances. The PSV summer signing made the cross-console final of the Bucharest LQE at the start of the season, before fighting his way to the console semi-finals at the FUT Champions Cup December at the Gfinity Arena. Other than Nicolas, Pinna is one of the serious dangers on the PS4 side of the draw.

MegaBitMichael ‘MegaBit’ Bittner currently sits in a respected eight place on the Xbox FIFA Global Series rankings but looks to be just short of claiming top prizes. The Werder esports man won the Global Series Playoffs on Xbox and made it to the console semi-final at the eWorld Cup, and it’s now time for him to prove his quality and go the distance in a major. With Dylan ‘DullenMike’ Neuhausen winning the FUT Champions Cup January and three Germans in the final four, can MegaBit follow suit and enjoy a great tournament in London?
