Fallout 76's Wastelanders update is LIVE and the biggest feature regarding this update is the human NPCs.
Fallout fans have been waiting for this update since its launch back in 2018 and with it they hope it will become a more complete game.
So what do we know about the NPCs in Fallout 76's Wastelanders DLC?
So how will interacting with NPCs work? The dialogue system will be similar to Fallout 3 (YES) though you're mostly going to be seeing these NPCs in instanced areas.
They won't be roaming around the map, if you were to kill them then other players wouldn't be able to interact with them. They will be in closed areas where Bethesda "can control the environment better".
"There will definitely be shades of gray," meaning it won't just boil down to whether you're good or bad when interacting with the settlers and raiders.
The dialogue will remain between a player and NPC, rather than a whole team.
"The group system is, if you're on a team, the team leader will be ultimately the one driving the conversations," Project Lead Jeff Gardiner said. "However, if you're outside and you want to talk to NPCs to advance your quest, you're gonna have to do a one on one, because we want to make sure everyone is experiencing the story, making the decisions and not just sort of following along with the team leader."
