The latest Formula 1 game is finally here, giving fans the chance to step into the shoes of an elite racer once more. Each annual release is a big one, but there's one question that Xbox owners have: is F1 22 on Xbox Game Pass? Luckily, we've got the answer.

In this F1 22 guide, we'll break down whether or not the new release from Codemasters is set to arrive on Microsoft's premium subscription service or not. Previous F1 games, including both the 2020 and 2021 editions, are currently on the platform, so there's definitely precedent behind the query. Why pay for the game if you can get it on Game Pass at no extra cost?

Is F1 22 on Xbox Game Pass?

At the time of writing, F1 22 will not be on Xbox Game Pass at launch. While the game is locked in for a July 1, 2022 release, there's nothing from Microsoft to suggest it'll come to their service on that day.

As such, if you're an Xbox owner and want to play F1 22 upon its release, your only option is to buy it. Otherwise, you'll still be able to access F1 2021, which remains on Game Pass with EA Play for the time being.

However, that's not to say F1 22 won't ever come onto Game Pass. Since previous entries in the series have been consistently added with the EA Play scheme, F1 22 could easily follow this pattern down the line. Don't expect it to happen any time soon, though. F1 2021 only landed on Game Pass with EA Play in March 2022, eight months after its launch. We imagine it'll be a similar timeline for F1 22.

Therefore, the wait for F1 22 to land on Xbox Game Pass could be a lengthy one. Equally, if you only subscribe to the base Game Pass plan, you probably won't get it, because it'll arrive on EA Play only. Consequently, you'll need a Game Pass Ultimate subscription to enjoy.

That's it for our look at whether F1 22 will arrive on Game Pass! While it's not looking like it'll arrive any time soon, there are good odds of it landing on the service a few months down the line. Your choices are either to wait it out, playing previous entries, or taking the plunge and purchasing the new game. If you want to test the new features like the Miami track, sprint races, as well as the F1 Life content.
