One of the biggest new features in F1 22 is Adaptive AI, which is something fans have been asking for for years now. If you're looking to use it yourself, we've got a quick guide on how to turn on F1 22 Adaptive AI.

Adaptive AI is a new setting that will make the difficulty in F1 22 more consistent. Rather than doing well in more open tracks and struggling in the likes of Monaco, the feature ensures that the AI is smart enough to see how you're doing during a race and change the difficulty on the fly, maintaining a fair level of challenge. However, it cannot be used in all modes or in conjunction with all other assists.

How to Turn on F1 22 Adaptive AI

Since you can only use Adaptive UI with certain other settings, it's not very easy to find out how to turn it on. The option is a little bit hidden.

First of all, you need to head to the settings area, either from the Workbench or the main menu options area. Then, select the Simulation Settings tile, where you'd usually set the AI difficulty.

In the top-right corner of the screen, you'll see the main simulation setting, which can be Casual, Advanced, and Expert. Cycling between those options by pressing triangle/Y will change the options that you can change in the list.

To turn on Adaptive AI, you need to cycle through those options until Casual is set. That will reduce the list of options you can change to just three.

The top one of those will be Adaptive AI, which you can set to a few different levels. The more you turn it up, the more noticeable it will be in races. For example, if you start to slow down, so will the AI. You'll likely have to play around with it a bit for the perfect experience.

For most F1 22 players, Adaptive AI won't be a consideration though, since it can't be used in conjunction with the more simulator-style assists. Having Adaptive AI set to on will make the game a whole lot easier, with most of the assists being turned on automatically.

If Adaptive AI is expanded to more modes in the game, we'll be sure to update you. In the meantime, it's worth playing around with to see if you like what it changes.
