Introducing the Halo 2: Anniversary LAN Championship


We’re proud to announce some exciting news for the Halo fans in the eSports community! With the much anticipated release of Halo: Master Chief Collection just around the corner, we can finally reveal, in association with TopMid, the Gfinity Halo 2: Anniversary LAN Championship taking place at the Gfinity Studio in Kingston-Upon-Thames on November 29th & 30th. The tournament will comprise 16 teams, 5 invites and 11 open spots, will take place on the Xbox One and will follow a double elimination format that takes place across the two days. The doors will open at 9am on each day with the first games scheduled to begin at 10am. The five teams that have already secured their spot at the Championship LAN via invitation are TCM, TEC, Infused, VIBE and VwS.

The remaining 11 spots are offered on a first-come-first-served basis and will require a £50 deposit to guarantee a team’s entry into the tournament. This £50 deposit will be refunded upon attendance of the event. To clarify, the event is completely FREE to enter, the £50 fee will be refunded to entrants at the end of the tournament!Up for grabs at the event will be a huge £2000 prizepool, with the distribution of prize money illustrated here.

Usual LAN rules will apply, with participants required to supply their own physical copy of the game, their own controller with mini USB to USB cable, and their own audio equipment. (And USB profile etc). The event will be livestreamed throughout the weekend on twitch.tv/GfinityTV, featuring some familiar Halo casters to keep you entertained, so even if you miss out on a spot at the event, you’ll still get to see all the action unfold!
