The Gfinity Elite Series Delivered by Domino’s: FIFA 19 returns with a brand new competition format. The new season will see players from top teams having to rely on teamwork and communication if they want to advance in the competition as the Elite Series introduces 2v2 co-op gameplay. Similar to last year, the regular season will feature 10 pro teams split into two groups of five with each team playing the others in their respective group. The top three teams from each group will progress to the knock-out phase with both group winners earning a week one bye.
Each contest will consist of two games; one on both Xbox One and PlayStation 4 and standard football rules apply with three points for a win and one for a draw. If two teams finish on the same points at the end of the regular season, the following tiebreaker rule take effect (in order of priority) • Head to head record• Goal difference between the two teams.• Goal difference through regular season• Goals for through regular season• Goals conceded through the regular season• Coin toss will be used as a last resort. Playoffs are single elimination and seeding is based on the regular season standings. The team who finished that finishes 2nd in Group A, will play the 3rd place team in Group B in quarter-final 1 and vice versa for quarter-final 2. The winner of quarter-final 1 will progress to play the winner of Group B in semi-final 1 and the winner of quarter-final 2 will progress to play the winner of Group A in semi-final 2. The winner of both semi-finals will progress to the Grand Finals to compete against each other, in a best of 3 finale. As well as the title of Gfinity Elite Series Champions, the finalists will take home the biggest share of the prize pool:• 1st - £25,000• 2nd - £15,000• 3rd - £5,000• 4th - £5,000
