Gillette Championship | Second Set of Finalists Revealed

As we pass the halfway mark for the Gillette Championship online qualifiers, we are delighted to welcome six new recruits to the Gillette Championship academy, as we continue our search for the best Pro Evolution Soccer players in Europe. 

Could you please introduce yourself? 

Hi, my name is Marko, I am 28 years old and I am coming from Zapresic, Croatia.   

How did you discover the Gillette Championship? 

I discovered the Gillette Championship through the PES community group on Facebook. 

Is there any specific reason you entered the Slovakia qualifier? 

Yes, there is! I actually played as Slovakia in the qualifying matches of the Croatian Championships Finals and I qualified! 

After that I played with Croatia in the Finals and I’m now the champion of my country. 

What are your strengths and weaknesses? 

My strength is my defensive skill, but my weakness is my mentality because I struggle to concentrate when I’m losing.

My name is Marc "erkobra" Campuzano Garcia, I’m 23 years old and I’m from Barcelona, Spain

How did you discover the Gillette Championship?

I discovered this page through friends.

Is there any specific reason you entered the Romania qualifier?

There’s no unique reason, I joined all the qualifiers and did my best to win them, which happened with Romania.

Will this be your first LAN event? If so, how do you feel heading into it?

No, I’ve played in many LAN tournaments, including the national tournament of Spain in 2010 and 2011.

What are your strengths and weaknesses?

My strength is my passing skills and my attacking ability. My weakness is my defence.

Do you believe you can win it?

I will try, but I think it will be really difficulty to win with Romania against teams like France, Spain or Germany.

What do you think of Gillette?

They are a great company and I’m glad they’re hosting this amazing tournament for us to play and enjoy.

Could you please introduce yourself?

Hi, my name is Israel Martínez, in the world of video games I’m known as Isra_21. I`m 29 years old and I´m from Spain.

How did you discover the Gillette Championship?

A group of Pes League friends told me and they commented on the importance of this tournament.

Is there any specific reason you entered the Czech Republic qualifier?

Not really. As I have little time to play, I believed that it would be easier to qualify as the lower seeded teams, because the game is equal for both players.

Will this be your first LAN event? If so, how do you feel heading into it?

No, it's not my first tournament, I have been competing at a professional level for a long time, since PES6. I have also been crowned the champion of Spain in 2011, and I played in the World Cup in Cologne. The Gillette Championships will be my first PES event in the UK and I´m happy about it. 

What are your strengths and weaknesses?

I think I'm very strong mentally and I’m very good at picking up on the details of my opponents during our meetings. I have experience in many tournaments like this one.

My weakness is certainly the lack of time I get to play and practice.

Do you believe you can win it?

It really is impossible, with all due respect to Czech Republic, there is a big difference between them and some of the other teams in the European Championship.

This team is not that of Jan Koller, Milan Baros and Pavel Nedved… But they are good and I will do my best to do well in the tournament.

What do you think of Gillette?

I use their products to shave with and they are really good!

Regarding the competition, I think it is the most important tournament so far and I feel very proud to be able to participate in it. I hope Gfinity and Gillette continue to support Pro Evolution Soccer and host more amazing tournaments in London.

Any additional comments?

I wish the best of luck to all my fellow players because it will be a unique experience. I will give everything to the Czech Republic, come on!!

Unfortunately, we were unable to interview the remaining finalists, however we would like to congratulate Kamel el Morabet (qualified as Turkey), Michal Jakubowski (qualified as Poland) and Faucheux Kilyan (qualified as Sweden) for successfully qualifying for the Gillette Championship Live Grand Finals, held at the Gfinity Arena & Studios from 8th - 9th of July.
