Gfinity to host the Gears Pro Circuit on Gears of War 4

We’re proud to announce that Xbox and The Coalition have selected Gfinity and MLG as the official hosts of the Gears eSports Pro Circuit for Gears of War 4.

The best Gears of War players in the world will compete for a starting prize pool of $1,000,000, as Major League Gaming and Gfinity host a series of marquee live open events, held across the globe.

The Gears eSports Pro Circuit will feature more international cross-play and competition than ever before in Gears of War history, as the most talented teams from North America, Europe, Latin America, and Oceania are flown around the world, as they compete against one another.

In order to qualify for the Gears eSports Pro Circuit, players must earn “Gears Pro Points” by competing in regional MLG GameBattles online ladders and in daily and weekly tournaments. Teams who do not qualify for the top travel spots will still be able to compete at local events, as well as any international event of their choosing.

This year’s international circuit will feature large open events, a double elimination format and the brand new, Gears of War 4 competitive game mode, Escalation (5v5).

In addition to this, the Gears eSports Pro Circuit includes some exciting stops around the world including London, Paris, Columbus, Mexico City, and Las Vegas.

And that’s just the beginning!

An additional $100,000 event will take place at a surprise location during the program. This means that over the course of 10 months, there will be a total of eight LAN events for you to enjoy!

Gears of War fans will also be able to support their favourite teams via Gears eSports digital game content, which will increase the competitions prize pool above its starting figure of $1,000,000. Around the world, fans will also be able to compete in online tournaments, with a starting prize pool of $50,000.

Can’t wait for Gears of War 4 and want to starting competing in Gears this summer? MLG will be hosting a $25,000 USD Gears of War 4 launch event in October 2016.  Players will be able to sign up for regional GameBattles online ladders and tournaments, and more details around qualification and the event itself will be announced in the coming weeks. The top team from each region in Europe, Latin America, and Oceania will be flown to compete against 5 North American teams to make up the 8 teams at the Gears of War 4 launch event at the MLG Arena in Columbus, Ohio, USA.
