Gfinity and Yogscast launch a new Minecraft series using Tournament Builder

Download Tournament Builder and run your own Minecraft tournament!

Following the successful launch of Tournament Builder for Xbox One, we're announcing a new partnership with world renowned YouTube network, The Yogscast.

This heralds the beginning of a brand new series which will combine the fan-favorite survival game, Minecraft, with an authentic competitive gaming experience. Four members of The Yogscast network compete in an arena-based knockabout, played for laughs and kudos, hosted through ‘Tournament Builder’. Yogscast Duncan, Yogscast Kim, Yogscast Caff and Yogscast Martyn will be participating, with the recorded videos being uploaded to YouTube.

From this point onwards all bets are off as gamers are invited to build their own Minecraft tournaments using the free application ‘Tournament Builder’. Anyone who does will have the chance of getting cash dropped into their Gfinity Wallet (our team will be hand picking these), official Yogscast and Gfinity swag and of course the opportunity to play alongside people from the Yogscast family, exclusively on ‘Tournament Builder’ for Xbox One.

Sam Van Tilburgh, Head of Marketing at Gfinity Plc said: “We’re putting control in the hands of the Minecraft community. With Microsoft recently revealing their plans to launch a new competitive multiplayer mode for Minecraft, this series provides the perfect platform to test Minecraft’s eSports potential, while identifying the demand for structured competition with the millions of registered Minecraft users on Xbox.

Rich Keith, Chief Revenue Officer at The Yogscast Ltd. said: “We’re very happy to be working with Gfinity on this community-led series; it’s about time that Minecraft joined the exciting world of eSports and using Tournament Builder is the perfect opportunity to kickstart that effort!”

Tournament Builder for Xbox One can be downloaded for free from Xbox Live.
