Gamescom 2019 Schedule: Nintendo Switch Mini Information May Have Been Leaked

Nintendo's current generation of console may be joined with a small and slicker version named the 'Nintendo Switch Mini'. This speculation comes as a result of accessories being designed for a Nintendo Switch Mini and with Gamescom 2019 around the corner it all seems a bit too coincidental.

The console that brought games such as Pokemon: Lets Go! Pikachu and Let's Go! Eevee was released back in 2017. Most major consoles release a second version shortly after the inital launch, such as the Xbox One S or the PS4 Slim, to improve the user experience and attract a new audience. The major benefit of the Nintendo Switch is the fact that it is designed to be a portable entertainment system, with the ability to run AAA console titles such as Diablo III, which the handhelds can not. The Nintendo Switch does a great job of this, but that it couldn't be improved to be smaller and lighter. Could Gamescom 2019 be the time we get to hear an announcement on the Nintendo Switch Mini?

Nintendo Switch Mini Accessories

There is no official word from Nintendo on a Switch Mini and with the likes of 'Project Scarlett' and the PlayStation 5 nipping at their heels, it would be a smart move for the Switch to help revitalise it's value; this latest discovery may just do that.

Twitter user @Cptn_Alex reported this as he received an email from Chinese gaming accessory makers 'HonSon'.

Was the Switch Mini just unofficially announced to me? A gaming company in China just wrote to me letting me know they’re releasing accessories for the Nintendo Switch Mini. Would a company make products for a console they didn’t KNOW existed, and didn’t have in hand? pic.twitter.com/yQgk7xCbUn

Until we hear something official from Nintendo, we can't get too excited about this prospect. However, it would be a great way to entice new users to the Nintendo console and improve on a few of the Switch's shortcomings.

With Gamescom 2019 around the corner, wouldn't it be an incredible announcement for the Nintendo Switch Mini to be unveiled?
