It has been said that it is more accurate, but to be honest, it is not that much more accurate, it just takes different liberties.

A new wave of support has emerged for a third Amazing Spider-Man starring Andrew Garfield, and I am all in favor of it. In addition to changing Sonic the Hedgehog, fans brought back James Gunn in Guardians of the Galaxy and got the Synder Cut of Justice League. It isn't uncommon for fans to sway studios if they're rewarded with lots of money in ticket sales.
