Elite Dangerous: Odyssey, the latest expansion to the long-running sci-fi sandbox, will finally arrive for PC players on May 19.
The new content, which allows for first-person shooter gameplay and on-foot exploration for the first time, is available as part of an ongoing Alpha until April 30.

"Odyssey constitutes the most ambitious Elite Dangerous expansion to date, delivering on the promise of allowing Commanders to explore atmospheric planets on foot for the first time, taking on new missions, and engaging in intense tactical combat, expanding Elite Dangerous’ gameplay from the iconic cockpit experience players have come to know and love over the last seven years," a press release reads.
Players will gain access to new suits and gear specially designed for exploration, combat, and salvage missions.
Social hubs will also allow players to meet face-to-face in new space stations, and new gear vendors allow for upgrades and purchases.
The Xbox One and PlayStation 4 versions of Odyssey are still planned for Autumn of 2021.
