Skyrim Anniversary Edition Announced, Complete with Fishing and More

Bethesda announced the Skyrim Anniversary Edition during Quakecon 2021, set for release on November 11. The Anniversary Edition will release on PS4 and PS5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S, and PC.

Yes, Todd Howard is releasing yet another version of Skyrim, but this time, it's packing a few additional features too.

What those are, we don't fully know yet, though Bethesda did say Skyrim Anniversary Edition will include fishing, survival mode, and a new quest line called Saints and Seducers. These are all from the game's Creation Club mod community.

It also comes with support for up to 500 pieces of Creation Club content, including pre-made quest lines and bosses, along with all three expansions.

Skyrim Anniversary Edition Announced, Complete with Fishing

What sort of upgrades Skyrim Anniversary Edition's next-gen enhancement includes is a bit of a mystery at present, though we expect some kind of graphics improvements.

That's because Skyrim is getting a next-gen upgrade for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.

If you own the Skyrim Special Edition already, you can upgrade to the Anniversary Edition for free.

However, any version of Skyrim is eligible for a free next-gen upgrade - just without the anniversary features.
