How To Upgrade To The Console Enhanced Edition Of Elder Scrolls Online

The Elder Scrolls Online: Console Enhanced is now available for download on Xbox Series X|S and Playstation 5, bringing with it graphic and performance updates free for all ESO owners of PS4 and Xbox One editions.

Both platforms have different methods of downloading this new update.

Xbox Series X|S

The Xbox Series X | S download takes advantage of the smart delivery system to download the best version of the game. If your console has instant-on power mode and Auto Update games enabled, The game will automatically be downloaded in the background.

If these options aren't selected, you will receive a prompt when launching the game asking if you would like to update to the new version.

PlayStation 5

For PlayStation 5 players, you will need to open the PlayStation Store and search for The Elder Scrolls Online: PS5 Upgrade. Follow the download process, which may look similar to a normal store purchase, however, the game will still be free.

Two new modes will be available with this update. The first being Performance mode, which targets frame rate running at 60FPS and 1440p Resolution.

The next is Fidelity mode, which enhances the visuals enabling 4k resolution at 30FPS.

Players can switch between these two modes in the settings menu.

This next-gen update comes just a few weeks after the launch of the recent expansion "Blackwood" where players continue the story that began with the previous DLC Flames of Ambition, now leading them into the Deadlands.

Blackwood is now available for players on all platforms including PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
