Elden Ring Speedrunner Clears Game in Just 30 Minutes

Speedrunners aren't wasting any time with Elden Ring. Following its launch last month, FromSoftware presented us with a huge open world RPG, and naturally, speedrunners have risen to the challenge. Now, one player has beaten it in under 30 minutes.

Achieved by Distortion2, this speedrunner is known for his work on Soulslike games and this time, he's set the "Any%" run record at 28 minutes and 59 seconds. Measured by the in-game timer, that's only possible through exploits and, unsurprisingly, skipping large segments of the game.

Naturally, this video contains significant spoilers for Elden Ring's end-game, so if you're currently playing through it, we'd recommend avoiding that. Given the game's massive scope, we didn't expect to see such quick runs this soon, but there's no doubt others will eventually best it.

Elsewhere, Game of Thrones writer George R.R. Martin confirmed he's pleased with the game's reviews, and one dataminer recently uncovered a mysterious colosseum that could be upcoming DLC. Elden Ring is available now on the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and PC.
