Square Enix Confirm They'll Be Present At E3 2021

With two months to go until launch, E3 2021 is slowly taking form. After last year's conference was cancelled due to Covid-19, the ESA are bringing E3 back this year, as a digital-only event.

Running from June 12 to June 15, its being headlined by Nintendo and Microsoft, but several larger publishers are joining proceedings. With big names like Capcom, Take-Two, Ubisoft and Konami also attending, Square Enix has now revealed they'll be making announcements too.

Square Enix Confirm They'll Be Present At E3 2021

Speaking with Japanese publication Nikkei, Square Enix CEO Yosuke Matsuda was asked about which of their games he's most looking forward to.

Naming Outriders' recent release, NieR Replicant, and Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade, Matsuda stated "We’ll be announcing the rest of the line-up later, and we’re also planning to make an announcement at E3 in June, so please keep your eyes peeled."

As they weren't originally listed as a partner organisation by the ESA, many believed Square Enix would focus on the second Square Enix Presents presentation instead. It's worth remembering the first ended by saying: “Be on the lookout for our next Square Enix Presents this summer.”

Whether that'll be a separate affair - or if they'll include Square Enix Presents as an E3 broadcast, like Ubisoft are with the next Ubisoft Forward presentation - remains to be seen.
