The highly anticipated remake of the classic action RPG that helped define the genre might just have a release date for its upcoming beta test thanks to a possible leak on the Microsoft store.

Diablo II: Resurrected was expected to launch an open beta test for all players who pre-order the game this August, although there had been no set date announced by Blizzard.

Over the weekend, Reddit user Crimson4649 had posted a screenshot of the Microsoft store page of the Diablo II: Resurrected beta, which said the release date would be 17/8/2021.

Not long after the post gained traction, Microsoft removed the release date from the page.

The beta is open to all players who have pre-purchased the game and will be available on all platforms it intends to launch on.

While it is no surprise that the release date is so soon as Blizzard has been very vocal about the beta test taking place at some point in August.

Blizzard's last blog post on Diablo II: Resurrected detailed new plans to include new quality of life features to the game such as Keybinds, auto gold pickup, and more.

Diablo II: Resurrected will launch on September 23rd on PC, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PS4, PS5, and Nintendo Switch.
