A nomadic wanderer, the Barbarian combines brawn and ruggedness with a mastery of weapons, using devastating melee attacks along with war cries to boost his allies—or demoralize his enemies.

At launch there's actually quite a lot of choice when it comes to Barbarian Builds in Diablo 2 Resurrected. Here are your potential options:

  • Goldfind Barbarian
  • Berserk Barbarian
  • Whirlwind Barbarian
  • Warcry Barbarian
  • Frenzy Barbarian
  • Wolf Barbarian

Here's a little taster of what the Barbarian Class has in store for you:

Is The Barbarian Good In Diablo 2 Resurrected?

Obviously, this is a very subjective question to start with and we'll try to give you as honest an answer as possible. But equally, it's very open to interpretation, especially when there are so many different factors to consider with every class and build.

For instance, some builds are fantastic at farming specific areas of the game or certain Uber Bosses who are useful for farming high-level loot. Another build might be tailored specifically for Solo Speedruns, when you're simply trying to complete Act 1 to Act 5 in as fast a time as possible on your own. Likewise, you might want a class or build that is geared towards farming Hell Andariel and Mephisto when attempting that late-game grind.

There's a wide variety of factors to consider.

Now, based on all the testing done by experts at Maxroll.GG, and when looking at the broadest specrum of factors, there are currently two decent S Tier builds for the Barbarian. These are the Goldfind Barbarian or Berserk Barbarian builds.

There are also three further A-Tier options should you pick the Whirlwind Barbarian, Warcry Barbarian or Frenzy Barbarian builds.

So yes, it's fair to say that the Barbarian is a good option for Diablo 2 Resurrected at launch. That said, it is the worst when it comes to Solo Speedruns.

What Is The Best Barbarian Build in Diablo 2 Resurrected?

Based on everything we've seen, the best Barbarian build for Diablo 2 Resurrected appears to be the Berserk Barbarian.

The 'Zerk Barb' is a build that is more favourable for a multitude of scenarios, including Chaos Preparation, Pindleskin farming and elite hunting runs. All in all, it's a fantastic jack-of-all-trades build that can be incredibly versatile.

If, however, you're more interested in farming gear from Hell Andariel and Mephisto or the Uber Bosses, you might be best sticking with something like the Frenzy Barbarian.

Keep reading, we'll explain everything you need to set up this particular build, including your gear, active skills, passive skills and more.

Berserk Barbarian Build Stat Points Setup

Strength - This stat will determine the type of gear your Barbarian can equip, as well as your potential melee damage. You want to add between 50-100 extra points in Strength for your Barbarian as it increases your attack damage and your potential to one-shot enemies.

Dexterity - This stat will have a huge bearing on your block chance and attack rating. For a Berserk Barbarian you don't need to waste too much on Dexterity, but will need enough to equip specific pieces of gear. In this case, you need 136 Dexertity minimum for the one-handed Phase Blade.

Vitality - This determines your Barbarians health, stamina total and your stamina recovery stats. Once you've invested in the required Strength and Dexterity stats you want to put all remaining points into Vitality.

Energy - This stat will determine your Mana total and mana recovery. Don't put points into Energy, it'll be a waste as you earn enough mana from other places.
