September 23, 2022: We updated our guide with the latest Xur location and inventory selection.

Anyone who is serious about staying up to date and competitive in Bungie's looter-shooter MMOPRG relies on the ever-changing Destiny 2 Xur location. The franchise's favourite mysterious vendor is always darting around the galaxy for one reason or another, and we're here to make sure you always know exactly where he is.

If it's time for you to check in on old Xur, read on to find out not where Xur is this week, but also what you can expect to buy from him. You might want to double-check his inventory before you seek him out. There's no point visiting the man if he has nothing that'll help you.

Elsewhere in the Destiny 2 world, we have Destiny 2 codes you can redeem for things like free emblems and currencies. And if you've ever been met with an error on busy days, we have "Destiny 2 Is Temporarily At Capacity" explained in this separate guide.

Where is Xur This Week?

Xur is on the EDZ this week. Load into the Winding Cove landing zone, and head straight north. You'll see a large Fallen ship in the cliffside, Xur is up by the ship.

What is Xur selling this week?

Here are the Exotics that Xur is selling this week:

  • Vigilance Wing
  • Raiden Flux (Hunter)
  • Aeon Safe (Titan)
  • Lunafaction Boots (Warlock)

Xur's Exotics this week are pretty good this week. The Vigilance Wing is a one of a kind weapon, as it's a five-round burst pulse rifle. It's great for PvP, so definitely snag this if you don't have one. Sadly, the Raiden Flux falls to the wayside, due to the Arc Staff super not being the Hunter super of choice.

Aeon Safe is a great pick up for Titans for higher level content to help with ammo sustain. Finally, Lunafaction Boots are a fine pick up if you don't have Phoenix Protocol for Well of Radiance Warlocks.

Xur's Hawkmoon and Dead Man's Tale this week are bad. Save your Cipher for another week.

Here are the Legendary Weapons that Xur is selling this weekend:

  • Gnawing Hunger (Zen Moment, Kill Clip)
  • Code Duello (Surplus, Fenzy)
  • Seventh Seraph CQC-12 (Lead from Gold, Shield Disorient)
  • Fractethyst (Dual Loader, Thresh)
  • Seventh Seraph VY-7 (Fourth Time's the Charm, Dragonfly)
  • Ikelos_SMG_v1.0.2 (Dynamic Sway Reduction, Surrounded)
  • Friction Fire (Killing Wind, Wellspring)

Of the weapons that Xur has this weekend, there's a couple decent pick ups here. Two that we'll highlight are the Gnawing Hunger, which has a great PvP roll. Also the Seventh Seraph VY-7 has a solid roll for PvE for you Arc players out there.

Armor is also generally pretty average. Most of the armor is mid-tier, though the Titan's helm is half way decent. Other than that, there's not much else to pick up here.

Who Is Xur?

If you're new to the game, Xur is a character that sells exotic weapons and armour over the weekend. He appears at 5pm GMT (6 PM BST) in a seemingly random location and offers rare gear in exchange for legendary shards that you can collect from dismantling legendary gear or completing activities.

We say random location, but he'll always be in the same spots you've always found him in - "Winding Cove" in the EDZ, in a tree in "Watcher's Grave" on Nessus, or in the Hangar in the Tower. He used to appear on Io and Titan, but both of those locations are now in the "Destiny Content Vault".

We won't know what he's offering for players until he appears, but we do know that he'll offer a variety of items.

Xur's inventory always includes one exotic weapon, three exotic armour pieces (one per class), and an isochronal engram that guarantees a drop of a random exotic from Year One or Year Two - and it's always something the player doesn't have, which makes it ideal for finishing collections.

As of Destiny 2: Beyond Light, he'll also offer a bounty that rewards players with an Exotic Cipher – an item that helps them earn exotic weapons from the new kiosk in the Tower.

How Is Xur?

Everyone is always asking "Where is Xur," but never "How is Xur?" Having been the guardian's primary quartermaster since the original release almost ten years ago now - he's probably getting pretty lonely at this point as players seek him out on a set day, grab what they can, and ignore his ex for another few days.

We'll be updating this piece once we know where the tentacle-faced hoodlum is, and what he's offering for Guardians. Until then, as we think it's only a matter of time before Destiny finds its way to phones and tablets, our Apex Legends Mobile release date hub should give you a fine example of why we think that is.
