Destiny 2 offers plenty of rewards for both casual players who just like to hop on and kill some aliens and also for those grinding for the best gear and weapon god rolls, with Artifice armor being among the most sought things.

Introduced with the Master version of the Grasp of Avarice dungeon included in the 30th Anniversary Bungie celebration DLC, Artifice armor is a way for players to min-max their stats in a simpler way, or help Guardians add bumps in specific stats of their choosing.

What is Artifice armor in Destiny 2?

How? Well easy: Artifice armor comes with an extra mod slot that allows Guardians to insert one more +3 stat boost mod, allowing them to free plenty of space for potential build crafting or improved stats.

This means that unlike regular armor that comes with four slots (a general multipurpose one, two armor piece specific ones, and a combat slot) the Artifice armor comes with five total.

With the new mod system introduced with Lightfall and the removal of Champion mods taking slots in your gear every time you wanted to do a Nightfall or other type of content, getting that extra slot could make your builds even more OP.

With all that being said, let's take a look at how you can get your hands on some nice Artifice armor.

The Spire of the Watcher set is amazing!

Artifice armor only drops from Master versions of dungeons, meaning not every single piece of gear in the game can come with this extra slot.

At the moment of writing, Artifice armor is only available from the following dungeons:

  • Master Grasp of Avarice
  • Master Duality
  • Master Spire of the Watcher

In Season of Defiance, these activities can be entered starting at 1800 Power Level (the Pinnacle being 1830). In order to allow more players to be able to tackle them, the PL requirements will scale depending on your PL, so even if you haven't hit the max cap, you can still play them with no issues.

What's even better is that starting with Season 21, officially known as Season of the Deep, there will be no Pinnacle cap increase, with the same Power Level caps as Season on Defiance in place.

You won't have to worry about the pesky extra Pinnacle grind at the start of each season and can start farming artifice armor in Destiny 2 right away. Or in the case of you having decided to take a break, maybe come back and pick up where you left off.

And that's all you need to know about Artifice armor in Destiny 2! We hope you get the perfect stat roll you're looking for. If you want more Destiny 2 content, why not check out all ability changes coming to the game with Season of the Deep?
