Destiny 2's highly-anticipated expansion, The Witch Queen, is a few weeks from release and evidently, fans are excited. According to Bungie, they've received more than 1 million pre-orders worldwide, becoming Destiny 2's most pre-ordered expansion in the game's history.
Announced through the official Twitter account, Bungie thanked fans for their support. The Witch Queen expansion arrives on February 22, 2022 and can be obtained by buying either the Standard, Deluxe, Deluxe plus Bungie 30th Anniversary Pack, or the Collector's Edition.
Destiny 2: The Witch Queen Has Seen Over One Million Pre-Orders
This latest news about The Witch Queen follows yesterday's reveal that Sony acquired the ex-Halo developer for $3.6 billion. However, the studio will remain as "an independent subsidiary” of the latter, giving them the right "to self-publish and reach players” on their own.
PlayStation head Hermen Hulst spoke on Twitter about the acquisition. His statement reads as:
I’m absolutely thrilled to welcome Bungie to the PlayStation family! Bungie create community-driven games with outstanding technology that are enormous fun to play, and I know that everyone at PlayStation Studios will be excited about what we can share and learn together.
